Social and emotional learning requires balance

Rick Hess of the American Enterprise Institute’s Education Policy Studies looks at the recent emphasis on social and emotional learning and concerns surrounding funding and practice. Hess cites author Robert Pondiscio, who notes the SEL movement’s growth has come “without a full and proper examination of its role or a sufficient discussion about its practices or expectations for its effectiveness.”
