Lotto: $6 million lockdown-ending jackpot for lucky Auckland punter

The final days of lockdown just got a whole lot sweeter for someone somewhere in Auckland.

Lotto announced on Wednesday evening a Powerball player had won $6.3 million in the Powerball First Division.

Wednesday night’s winning numbers are 06, 10, 11, 15, 28, and 31. Bonus ball 14. Powerball 5.

The winning ticket was sold online on MyLotto, the statement from Lotto said. The prize consists of $6m from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.

Meanwhile, two Lotto players, from Hawkes Bay and Southland, won $333,333 with Lotto First Division in Wednesday evening’s draw.

A quick trip to a shopping centre for a hair cut has led to a $9.3 million Lotto win for a Hamilton family.

Strike Four rolled over and will reach $600,000 on Saturday night, the statement said.

“Tonight’s winner is the twentieth Powerball winner so far this year and comes just over a week after a Tauranga couple won $10.3 million with Powerball,” Lotto said.

Live Lotto draws stopped during Auckland’s lockdowns, and computer-generated draws were used instead.
