233 N.J. schools opt out of meal programs

In New Jersey, 233 districts and charter schools do not participate in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs, according to a Politico review of data from the state Agriculture Department. At schools that have opted out of the programs, students and families are not eligible for expanded federal support for free meals, grab-and-go meals and other services.
