Single ticket wins entire $80 million Powerball jackpot; NSW confirms eighth case of Omicron variant; Scientists discover AstraZeneca blood clot trigger

A single ticket bought in Western Australia has claimed last night’s monster Powerball jackpot, writing the holder’s name into the record books with an $80 million prize.

It’s the equal-biggest prize won from any Australian lottery game so far this year and would be the third-biggest individual winner ever if not part of a syndicate, according to lottery operators.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1333 on Thursday, December 2, were 27, 30, 4, 5, 33, 26 and 19 and the Powerball was 8.

The lucky Western Australian was the only division one winner but there are still millions of dollars on the table from other divisions, The Lott said.

“After scoring the entire $80 million jackpot, the Western Australia player has officially secured their name in the Australian lottery books and shares the title of the nation’s third-biggest individual lottery winner,” The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said.
