Three people were airlifted from the Nelson Lakes National Park on Sunday after getting stuck because of rising river levels.

Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter pilot Colby Tyrrell said the helicopter picked up three female trampers from a sandbar in the Coldwater Hut area about 11.50am.

The trampers were uninjured and flown to their vehicle at the Mt Robert Carpark.
