Report highlights schools making academic gains

A recent report from St. Louis University’s Policy Research in Missouri Education Center is highlighting schools that report high rates of academic growth and progress — rather than focusing strictly on academic achievement. Evan Rhinesmith, executive director of the PRiME center, says focusing strictly on achievement is problematic because scores often are tied to students’ socioeconomic backgrounds.
