Career and technical education students in a North Carolina district are partnering with the school nutrition department to provide food for school meals through the district’s farm-to-school program. What began as a 1-acre agricultural site has grown into a 9-acre farm at Enfield Middle S.T.E.A.M. Academy that provides various fruits and vegetables for school meals along with hands-on learning experiences for students.
