You might have not yet heard of Justine Clenquet just yet but the French accessories designer is already on the watch list of some of the coolest concept stores around the world – and her star will no doubt keep rising.
Clenquet has been in the fashion industry for over a decade, launching her eponymous label in 2010 and starting off with a focus on jewelry design. She first made a name for herself for her modernist jewels that married feminine and masculine aesthetics and championed craftsmanship, by working with artisans across France.
More recently – to many shoe lovers’ delight – she expanded into footwear, applying the same philosophy into her shoe designs: sharp, modern silhouettes; a focus on handcrafted quality; neutral colors; and a tougher edge.
Think sharp, square toes; chunky, block heels; and plenty of silver hardware that reflect the brand’s jewelry designs too. The brand’s Eddie knee-high boots, featuring a chunky silhouette and cool mix of glossy and matte leathers are a real highlight – adding a dose of cool to a winter staple.
The collections are also more accessibly priced between 280 and 380 euros and you can shop them on the brand’s own website as well as some of the coolest concept stores around the world, which have been snapping up the brand’s shoes and naming the brand as one of the hottest up-and-comers in the shoe scene. Kith boutiques across the world; Browns in London; Isetan in Tokyo; and the renown Merci concept store in Paris all stock Justine Clenquet now.
You can get better acquainted with the brand by adding to your follow list and taking in its graphic imagery and street style snaps of all the cool girls wearing its chunky-soled shoes.
